The Grand Rapids, MI, Water Reclamation Facility designed a new anaerobic digestion and dewatering facility with the goals of preventing struvite scaling, breaking the phosphorus recycle loop, and recovering phosphorus for reuse. Partnering with our local partner Schwing Bioset, they implemented Nuresys technology to create a two-stage phosphate management system.

Nutrient Recovery System at Tres Rios Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) in Arizona, US
Award winning project with our local partner in US, Schwing Bioset. The primary objective of NuReSys installation was to precipitate struvite within the digestate stream for removal with the biosolids. By converting a minimum of 85% of the available orthophosphate into crystalline form, the phosphorus recycle stream back into the plant is broken. Additionally, due to the flexibility and two stage operation of the NuReSys technology, power demands are roughly 1/3 of the performance guarantee values, resulting in significant annual savings.

Centrate Struvite System in Lodz, Poland
This Centrate installation built around 2023 focuses on struvite formation in the second biggest waste water treatment plant in Poland. Here, the goal was to reduce the chemical use in Waterline hence NuReSys system was implemented to cut the P loop and recover Phosphorus at the same time.

Here the goal was to revamp the sludge line and to prevent scaling on centrifuges. NuReSys put up a HYBRID installation where the Stripper is placed at the outlet of the digester and the struvite formation in the pumps, lines and hydro-extractors is highly reduced. The Struvite Crystalliser is installed after the hydro-extraction. reducing the internal P loop.
