Large US food processing company for their Dutch facility
In 2023/24, NuReSys put a new installation at one of the global US origin food processing company that is one of the world’s largest producers and processors of frozen french fries, waffle fries, and other frozen potato products. Here the goal was to remove bulk of Phosphorus and reduce nutrient flow towards post aerobic treatment. Also, our IPM system helped to avoid FeCl3 after anaerobic treatment since they were required to do so, as per discharge requirements.

The installation here is of the effluent from the production of potato manufacturing plant, which is first treated in an UASB reactor. The effluent is further treated in an aerobic biological treatment stage for further P and N reduction. The phosphate was formerly reduced by addition of FeCl3. The total volume is bypassed though the NuReSys-P plant where the PO4-P concentration is reduced from 120 ppm to average 20 ppm. The installation was retrofitted to an existing UASB reactor giving immediate positive RoI.

NuReSys constructed the “Phosphate-Recovery-System”; for a subsidiary of a corporate group specializing in dairy products and baby food, producing raw milk and various cheeses at its facility. Goal here was to make sure less nutrients come in the aerobic treatment.
